Break bulk vessel

Bulk carrier vessel FENGTIEN departed Berth 10 recently carrying one of the largest break-bulk shipments of zinc ingots from the Port.

Stevedore, Townsville Marine Logistics loaded 33,000 tonnes of zinc ingots over 7 days. The high quality zinc is destined for New Orleans and is a product of Sun Metals Refinery.

Zinc is ideal for a wide range of applications, and is particularly well suited to those that require corrosion resistance such as galvanisation, an anti-corrosion process used to protect steel products.
